Not really, i’m blogging aren’t i? But so many people have that problem, they setup WP on their own domain and forget what their password was, they sometimes forget what email address they signed up with, and if that’s gone, you’re blog is pretty much done for, until now.

I was reading a regular forum I lurk at, BlackHat Forum at shoutingzone.com and came across an amazingly useful topic.

Some member lost his password and no longer had access to his email address, so this guy called Duane, who seems to be some sort of hardcore coder replied, this was the reply to the I lost my wordpres password topic;

I was about to head to bed, lucky I saw your topic.

It’s not at all hard so don’t worry about it. You’ll be blogging again in 5minutes.

First thing you have to do is go to this site http://www.opinionatedgeek.com/dotnet/tools/Base64Encode/Default.aspx and enter the new password you want, encode it and when that’s done, scroll down and copy the base64 code, it will look something like this dGhpc2lzeW91cnBhc3N3b3Jk (that’s the encoding for thisisyourpassword)

Save that somewhere safe, and remember what the original password was.

Now log into your cpanel, go to phpmyadmin.
Select the DB that contains your blog in it, (if you don’t remember then find the name in you config.php file) and select that.

Select wp_user and then Browse. Now Edit the admin username, simply paste the password you encoded in the field where it says user_pass >> varchar(64) There you’ll find some random letters and numbers, like I said, replace those with the random letters and numbers we got after encoding our password before.
Select Go to the bottom right and you’re done. go to your admin login page for your blog, type in admin as the username and your new password, this is not the numbers and letters but what you initially typed in as a password before encoding it.

That’s it, you’re in. Feel free to change the email address in your admin profile.

This is great, now I don’t have to worry about remembering my passwords for the blogs I have! haha I can forget them at any time and then just go change them when I want to login! Very useful tips from this coder Duane, Kudos to him! Kudos to shoutingzone.com !

My good friend Moni, The Slovenian Designer that is, has recently posted a blog that has near saved my life! I was in dire need of decent landing pages, about 15 and was praying for some sort of miracle, because I’d have to eventually set them all up and that would take me hours I really did not have.

As I was doing my daily rounds, I could not believe what I saw, a blog post dedicated to Landing Page Designs!! I must be the luckiest son of a earthling ever! Not only did he have an amazing sample of his work, but he’s offering for a killer price (he’ll probably give me a few of his landing page templates for free, because we’re friends, duh!)

I fell in love with the real estate virtual assistant landing page, although that too was amazingly ironic, because well, read the post below!! I know, de ja vu or what?! Anyway you must check his page out, I order you! As for me, I’m shooting him an email, suck up a little, beg a bit and I’ll be 5 landing page templates richer ;)

Watshit has recently caused a stir with their Real Estate Virtual Assistant blog post. I rarely make these sorts of posts but I had to…and those of you reading this, blogladies, preacher, eli, Jason, brad, Emma, all you guys with blogs, please spread the word about Watshit to raise online scam awareness! It’s unreal and something has to be done about it.

Even virtual real estate sites? You have got to be kidding me! I’ll be honest, I did not even know Real Estate Virtual Assistants existed till earlier today!? What on earth are they supposed to do? Find virtual farming land and sell you it (not so funny joke I know).

Watshit really opened up my eyes to a lot of its information, and I wanted to make a blog post about the things I do to avoid being scammed like that. (I have never been scammed - that’s if you exclude my teenage nephew…he’s a devil!)

  • First thing I check when dealing with any company, and long before I pay for any service, I do the following.
  • Check their contact details, and make sure they are legit individuals.
  • Check if their company is a registered one or just an online website.
  • Call them up several times to make sure they actually pick up.
  •  Then I take as many email copies for record reasons.

No the most simple thing EVERYONE must do, do a quick Yahoo! Search for the service you want to purchase from said company. Add the words ‘bad’ ’scam’ ‘fraud’ and so on before and after the company name and company website url in your searches. This is a really easy and effective way of finding unsatisfied clients or scam reports like those on Watshit.com.

I know this is not the most detailed blog post about this issue, but I really wish from the bottom of my heart, that something is done about these online scammers. Stricter penalties online, something harsh to scare them a little! I suggest the death penalty but then again a lot of you wont agree with me, oh well.

Just be careful when dealing with people online, EVERYONE is a potential scammer. It’s that simple.

Blogs You Should Bookmark

Posted by admin

There are several blogs I follow, from design blogs to marketing ones to absolutely useless ones!

One I follow is for the spletni oblikovalec (Slovenian designer - www.sloveniandesigner.com), moni I think his name is, this guy is creative and I love his style. He’s also one of those oblikovalec spletnih (web designers) that helps people out for free, which in my books, is an auto plus! kudos to him!

The Blog Ladies I keep in my bookmarks and check out from time to time, mainly because they just prove that there are hot female Blogger’s/SEO’s online! Here’s a backlink leading you guys away from my blog, to theirs, because they rock. It’s called mutual respect God damn it!

Michael Kane’s blogs! Yes I read my own blogs! So what? Well I read my Website marketing blog more so than my personal blogs, then again that’s still not normal i’m sure.

There are a couple more, some recent ones like Preachers Pen blog recently, Chris has a great writing style driving me to read his posts every now and again.

How can I forget my buddy  The Blackhat who’s posts intrigue and amuse me. He knows as well as I do, he’s mostly full of crap, but I love him - in a manly none gay way (mainly because we pretty much hate the same people and therefor see eye to eye). His blog is informative as well as eye opening and should be a bookmarked site for all webmasters.

Who else? There’s a few more people but i’m out of time, need to run and get something done! That’s it, later

So go check it out and learn you lazy bastards!

If you love a Widget (or have useful feedback), find that Widget in the Gallery and make sure to share your thoughts.

How do I install Yahoo! Widgets?

You must first install the Yahoo! Widget application in order to run Yahoo! Widgets. You can download the Widget application and a starter set of Widgets from from widgets.yahoo.com/download. Click the button Get Our Starter Pack.
Note that some installations require an administrator’s ID and password, depending on your privileges.

  • Download both the installer and the zipped file of starter Widgets.
  • Launch the installer. After installation, do not start Yahoo! Widgets.
  • Unzip the starter Widget zip into My Documents\My Widgets for Microsoft Windows. For Apple OS X, unzipping puts a Widgets folder on the desktop; to install the set, drag the folder to Documents.

Yes, women, not men, because we men know that Yahoo is far more superior! We men know better. So why should all the elgoog females convert to yahoonism? Because I said so, and also because i’m going to provide you all with 7 reasons that will convert the most googligooped female alive!

Before I start, I would like to note that the Yahoo logo, is this intense red colored, passionately crafted design that would make any womans mouth water. It’s not some rainbow colored pile of goo. It’s Yahoo! Intense, the word itself makes you feel tingly doesn’t it? I bet every mature woman, has screamed out Yahoo passionately at one point or another during her adult life! Convert…convert to yahoo I say! This is not one of the seven reasons, but to most, it’s enough to get you peeking over right?

Yahoo knows what Women look for in a Search Engine and that’s why everything is tailored to meet a womens every need!

1- Healthy and strong

There is a general perception that women like Search Engines that are Well Structured and care about a Womans Health. Yahoo Health has a section just for women that discusses everything from the most effective diets for you, to excercise videos to articles on living a stress free life, all this is presented well and designed for just women! Really, believe me, it was even designed with females in mind!

2- Protective

Women have a tendency to see how protective their Search Engine is. Does it have the makings of being a good long term companion and a caring life long friend? Bearing these aspects in mind, a female seeks a Search Engine who has a protective nature. Yahoo is as protective as they come.Yahoo makes it virtually impossible for anyone to steal your Mail Passwords, Yahoo also provides family accounts and tons of measures are taken to protect your kids while using Yahoo!

3-Confidence in one’s self!

This is one aspect which also acts as a determinant in a female choosing a Search Engine. A confident Search Engine such as Yahoo shows that it is capable during the most demanding search queries. Yahoo not only performs well, it does so with style. Fashion, design, Yahoo to anyone is eye candy. Unlike elgoog, creative designers have spent endless nights tailoring Yahoo’s home page and general interface to not just look attractive, but to wow. As stunning as the design is, females know their fashion, and Yahoo stands out among the rest as the classy, hip modern trimmed search engine. What also draws a woman’s attention is the convenience and functionality of a Search Engine. Navigation is as easy as clicking once, sometimes you’ll find what you want by simply loading Yahoo’s home page, why? Because Yahoo knows what you want, and wants to please you! Satisfy your deepest most exotic search needs!

Women Love Yahoo

4-Search Engines who are their real self

A woman looks for a certain sense of novelty with regard to her Search Engine. No degree of farce will help a Search Engine to get the female for the farce won’t last for long. Yahoo has always been unique, always striving to stand out among the rest, to be the search engine that comes up with new creative ways to make your searching days simpler, and funner even more relaxing. Unlike elgoog, who’s designers don’t seem to know the difference between good use of space and a freakin white index page, Yahoo designers and developers work day and night to create a webpage that helps you find what you want without making that extra search. With the hot new Yahoo Mail features, checking your Yahoo mail is as fun as taking a nice strawberry scented bubble bath, probably more relaxing.

5-Sense of Caring

Search Engines that show a genuine sense of caring also get the attention of female. Female like to feel as if they have a Search Engines heart, and Yahoo understands that. You can tell that Yahoo just melts when a Female lands on it’s home page, Yahoo goes out of it’s way to make a Female feel special and if you’re tired, Yahoo will rub your feet, make you coffee and even do the house work just to see you smile! Because Yahoo cares!

6- Sense of direction?

Yahoo understand a womans need for a Search Engine that knows where it’s going. Yahoo Maps not only helps women find there way around, but Yahoo maps is also sure to find its way into anyones heart.

7- Feeling alone?

Two words for you, Yahoo Personals :D

Enough said. If you’re not convinced that you should use Yahoo every day, then good luck with the fat bald smelly midget, elgoog.

Yahoo Mail!

Posted by Michael

Yahoo Mail Rocks!
Nothing I say can express half of what I really feel. Yahoo mail has made life so much easier for me. I’ll be honest, yes I have tried Gsnail before, but dear lord did I change back in a heart beat. It was like stepping out of an oasis, into the middle of the ghetto or something, like crossing into another dimension.

Yahoo Mail is what I’ll be sticking with for life. The new Reading Pane feature is a gem! I mean now I can check out all the messages without actually opening any, just to get an idea of what I’ll find in them. Yahoo Mail works on my cell now, which is like my favorite feature because I’m always on the move. Having Yahoo Mail with me wherever I go and being able to depend on it like that has been a life saver! Oh and if that was not enough, the new drag and drop feature where instead of selecting messages to send to a certain file, i can just grab um, drag um and drop um! Bloody marvelous!

If you add the amazing keyboard shortcuts you can use, tab browsing so I can read several messages at the same time in the same window, the SMS feature withing Yahoo Mail, and the fact that I can chat with my Yahoo Messenger contacts while looking through my mail make Yahoo Mail a near orgasmic experience. Now you all know why I check my mail a lot!!

The iheartyahoo Blog!

Yahoo is my love affair, it’s what I wake up for every morning, rolling out of my bed, hopping across my bedroom clumsily only to crash behind my desk and turn on my laptop to get my morning dose of caffeine, yahoofeine? You get what I mean. Why all this raw love towards yahoo? It’s always been there when I needed it most, all the way through high school, helping me with my college assignments and then only to assist me further in my MBA research, all the while asking for nothing in return. If it was not for Yahoo I would be stuck with some second class excuse of a search engine to blindly dig my way around.

So why this site?

Now, just to address one main point, this blog is plain, it’s simple, it’s very white, because I want it to be this way. I like white, I like simplicity and if you have a problem with my ‘dull’ blog design, then I’m sorry but this is the way it shall remain. If you like me less now, I’m ok with that.

A little about me? ok then.

For those that are still reading, then run for your life as I’m about to share a little personal information about who I am. My name is Michael, I’m a…let me think, Graphic Designer (Not a professional) and a Writer (I can barely spell without using spell check), I’m modest which is obvious so far I’m sure and I love sushi. I’m a 20 something year old that lives wherever the road takes me, most likely you’ll find me somewhere in the heart of Detroit City, MI.
